Where did the summer go? It seems like only yesterday that I was looking forward in anticipation to the summer holiday’s. Whilst I love the holidays and the slower pace of life, I must confess that I am glad to be back. All the more so when I realise the God has not been on holiday, he has still been at work and active in peoples lives. Folks have come back from Soul Survivor greatly impacted by God and with one person having become a Christian! We have two baptisms planned for Sunday 9th September, hopefully more!
Last Sunday was a bit of a marathon. I was so blessed by our morning service, God’s presence was very clearly felt among us. We launched our new church plant at the Barony Theatre Bo’ness in the afternoon, with over 60 folk. In the evening there were 50 people at Union Road for our vision evening for Linlithgow. It was encouraging to see so many folk there, engaged and caring about our community, including Tom Conn our local councillor and Rebecca from Linlithgow Community Development Trust. Heather Begarnie shared in a very simple, but effective way, our vision as a church for the Transformation Centre.
Transformation, in one word describes our vision here at St John’s. We long to see lives transformed as people encounter Jesus and whole communities transformed as those people not only proclaim the Good News, but live it in their streets and their neighbourhoods. God is on the move.
P.S. In our morning services on 23 & 30 September we will be sharing more news about what God is doing in and through St John’s and sharing ways in which you to can get involved, if you are not already.
