‘How can they call upon him unless they believe in him?  How can they believe in him if they have never heard?  How can they hear about him unless someone tells them?’  Romans 10:14 NLT.

Here at St John’s we believe that God has given us a mandate to tell people the Good News, and to demonstrate it by being Good News people. More than that, we long to see whole communities transformed as people find freedom in Christ and experience something of the thrill of following him daily.

Without question two of the most effective forms of evangelism and discipleship today are Alpha and church planting, which is why we have a vision to see worshipping, witnessing communities planted within the reach of everyone in our communities. It is why we started 3 Alpha courses this week; 2 in Linlithgow, including a youth Alpha and one in Bo’ness. That is why Lorraine is starting a new connect group aimed at young parents on Saturdays.

I genuinely believe that this is an exciting time to be a Christian in Scotland. Just today I heard about a Glasgow church that had baptised 18 teenagers who had come to faith on youth Alpha, over 1,000 people made a profession of faith at the Will Graham event, with over 850 doing so through The Turning. God is on the move and has a mission to fulfil and he is inviting us all to be a part of it.
