The Turning begins in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen this Thursday the 23rd of August with an evening of worship and encounter at Destiny Church, Gorgie at 7.30pm. We had hoped to roll out the street evangelism to Linlithgow and Bo’ness later the following week, but the feeling is that this year we would benefit more from joining with and learning from the Edinburgh team.
We’d love you to go and gain experience, trained by the team from Reading so that we are in a better position to roll out The Turning locally next year. This will give us time to get other local churches involved so that we can partner with them and build the excitement across the whole church when those who are enthused by the things they’ve seen and done over the ten days of outreach in the city can encourage and enthuse others in the church to get involved.
Initially we’ll meet in the car park at Union Road on Thursday at 6.20pm to travel through together. From Friday onwards, those who are able to spend the day in Edinburgh should be at Life Church, West Richmond Street, Edinburgh EH8 9EB from 9.30 each morning.
I hope that those who are able to go through to Edinburgh, even for one day, will be able to be part of a more focused local expression of The Turning next year, I believe that God will use this to reach hundreds of people over the ten days and that next year we will see many people reached for the Kingdom, scores, perhaps hundreds of people hearing the gospel and being given an opportunity to respond to Jesus.
